Baby Bunnies! These baby bunnies are only 14 days old! And what better way to capture the love of your pet than in a portrait? I've photographed a myriad of pets for my clients. Dogs, and cats, of course, but also add to the list rabbits, goats, sheep, cows, and more! As a pet lover myself, I can't even begin to explain the place my furry friends hold in my heart. Having a timeless portrait on my way of each of them is just precious.
Back to the bunnies! A dear friend of mine has an incredible gift. She is absolutely amazing with animals. She connects with them in a tender, honest and authentic way like I have never seen before. When I learned that she had welcomed four baby bunnies to her pet family, I quickly asked if I could have the opportunity to photograph them. She was more than happy to bring them in to the studio. Lucky me!!!! We spent a good 90 minutes creating images of the rabbits. Fun, fun, FUN!
It was hard to narrow down the images to only a few to post here. I am planning to create a slideshow to put up on the blog so you can see ALL of them. :) Stay tuned for that.
ADORABLE!!! Can you stand it??? CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!
Ok, so I must apologize for my lack of posts recently. Over the holidays, we upgraded our computers and software. In doing so, we had to figure out a couple of glitches in browsers, blog compatibility and such. But, now I'm back!!
Valentine cards are so much more fun when a child gives a picture of them self to their classmates!! Each year, we try to outdo the year before for my own children's cards. In the past we have done rock star Valentines..
Star Wars Valentines..
And last year The Bachelor (that wasn't the original concept, but once we added the rose...the was no denying it!)
SO...if the grocery store Valentine's just aren't going to cut it for you this year, come to the studio and let us create a ONE OF A KIND Valentine for your child!!! Call me today to schedule your session 207-450-9641.
Happy New Year! Wow, 2012! A full year ahead with so many wonderful opportunities!
I hope you are enjoying 2012. I sure am! I actually took my first week off since beginning my photography business. I know, can you BELIEVE IT???? It has been very enjoyable, but now I am back to work and ready to take on a new year. We will have lots of new events this year. 2011 showed me that many of my clients enjoy event-based sessions. We heard you and we are READY TO BRING IT ON in 2012!
One of the changes this year is a new computer system. So new, that in fact I am having trouble posting images to this blog post!!! ARGHH!! What's a photographer's blog WITHOUT PICTURES??? My handsome tech guru is out doing the grocery shopping right now (I know, I am completely SPOILED!) so he will have to take a look after he gets home. :)
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." -Ferris Bueller
The 1986 movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, is one of my favorite movies of all time. In a word, it's AWESOME! I have always loved Matthew Broderick, and this movie just makes me smile. It is CLEVER. You all know I love clever.
Anyway, I digress....
I decided I was going to take a few days off this week. Originally, I had said I was taking the entire week off. Well, that isn't going to happen (BOO!!!!) but I did get part of yesterday off. It was FANTASTIC! I started my day by spending a little extra time on hair and makeup. It's amazing what looking good can do for you to make you FEEL good! Then I ventured out to lunch at Gritty's in Freeport with my dear friend, Matthew. We laughed and laughed over some of the funnier moments of our 25 year friendship. Love that!
Here he is from a recent session at my studio...
He bailed just in time for me to hit up the COACH store and Talbots. He must know he would have been the one to carry my bags, so he headed off to a performance he was scheduled to do. COACH was having a big sale, so of course I HAD to get something. I needed a new black clutch, so I picked out one and bought it for myself!
Then it was on to Talbots. When I notice my favorite go-to pieces in my wardrobe, they are typically Talbots pieces. So, I ventured in thinking I was only going to go look. Ha ha ha!! Well, I managed some FAB deals and got two pair of jeans (a size smaller than I expected, to!!) a sweater and a top. YIPPEE!!!! Brace yourself....I got all of that for some crazy amount....(Shh...$65 ish I think?!!)
I returned home to a message from a bride who I need to meet with as she is living out of state now. We are finalizing her album, so I had to drop everything and get back to work. Still, my day off was nice while it lasted! Today I am also supposed to be taking the day off, but I have to go to the studio for a few things. It's a blessing to be this busy at the studio!! But, I can tell you, I ADORED the wee bit of time I enjoyed off yesterday~)
There were miles of smiles at the studio when Santa visited!! As you can see from the sparkel in their eyes, there were some very happy children. Santa's visit to my studio is one of my absolutely FAVORITE events. The wonder with which they walk up to him and hand him a handwritten letter, or gift is heartwarming! Santa is a gentle, kind soul. He takes time and chats with each child. He was happy to answer their questions about where he parked his sleigh, and where the reindeer were waiting. Seeing how the children's faces light up when he thanks them for the cookies last year is precious. Ah, Christmas!! It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Santa Claus will be making his annual visit to Joanne Lee Photography on December 3rd, from 9:30am - 2pm. Why brave the mall, stand in line, only to have a poor-quality picture taken and perhaps a bad experience, too? Take advantage of this event, have a private 15 min. session with Santa all while Joanne captures it in a portrait. The set is AMAZING!! Can't wait to show you all!
Sessions are $25 and include a FREE 5x7 portrait. Call today 207-450-9641 to schedule your appointment. You will have the opportunity to select your favorite image, and we will be offering prints, as well as digital files!! To reserve your child's time, CLICK HERE!
If you had the pleasure of coming to this event last year, you know that this is indeed...the REAL SANTA! It's not one of his nice 'stand-ins' that you see from time to time. Santa is WONDERFUL and I can't wait for you to meet him! Trust me, my people have already been in touch with his people and it's going to be grand! Oh, and of course I had to give him my Christmas list, too! (Let's see, there were shoes, shoes, and more shoes on my list....and Santa, if you can't read my writing, it says "Jimmy Choo, Manolo, and Louboutin."
Please don't forget, this event is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.....to make your appointment, REGISTER HERE!
As a business owner, I try to find ways to give back to the community which has given so much to me. This year the organizers of Harvest Festival asked me to be part of this fantastic event. I was so excited to be running the photo booth. We provided free photos for the families of children who dressed up for the fantastic event.
We had a Mariachi Band member come to our booth for a picture, and Rocky Balboa even stopped by for a portrait!! I may be biased, but I think these were pretty darn cute costumes!
Check out the gorgeous lighting from John Griffin, of Christmas Light Pros. I used a slow shutter speed for this image as darkness was closing in. Love this type of look with holiday lights.
Anyone who knows me well, knows that I always joke with my children that they are going to be doctors when they grow up. You may have heard me ask them "What do you want to be when you grow up?" and before they can reply I'll add "D.O.C.T.O.R. Say it with me, DOCTOR!" Ha ha ha!!
So when this lovely family came to my studio (from a great distance I might add!) and they pull out this set of scrubs for him, I was OVER THE MOON excited!!!! The parents are both medical professionals, and the dad thought a set of scrubs for his son would be perfect. How cool is that???!!! I just loved it!
I love getting to know the families I photograph. When this couple was first dating they attended a wedding I photographed. A few years later, after they married, they contacted me to set up a newborn session for their baby on the way. I was also pleased that we were able to photograph the mom's maternity portraits just before this handsome baby arrived! Thank you for having me create these images for you!
Remember school photos? Did yours ever look like THIS?????!!!! I just love this annual event. This year was our biggest year yet! We photographed nearly 100 children and gave them a BETTER alternative to the standard school photos. YES!! I am all about giving people better options and I think we delivered!
I mean, who wouldn't love sibling portraits? That is one part of our event that sets us apart from school photography. We take the extra time to be sure we capture WHO your child is, and not some weird face they make when the photographer acts silly and gets a weird expression from the child. We love it when parents say "Oh my goodness! That is soooo her!"
Stop by our facebook page and see what people are saying about our event and their experience! You'll see lots more previews, too.
