You've heard us say it before, we HATE traditional school pictures! Remember those awful ones we had taken? They gave us comb, made some ridiculous joke and then snapped the photo at the most AWKWARD moment possible.

 

Well, we set out a few years ago to do thing better!!! We call them UN-School Photos! We take a handful of images of your child in a beautiful outdoor setting. Then, you select the one you want! No more paying for something you haven't even seen!!

 

Another perk of coming to our UN-SCHOOL Picture event, is that at Joanne Lee Photography, we offer SIBLING PHOTOS! I always like to snap a couple sibling shots after we have done the individual portraits. Sooooo many of our clients end up using one of these images as their holiday card photo! Senior Portrait Deadlines! Yearbook Photos are Important! {Maine Senior Portrait Photographer}

Senior Pictures! Senior year, college applications, SATs, graduation, yearbook! 

The senior year is such an important time. Amid the back to school frenzy, is a rite of passage...senior portraits! I remember when I was about to start my senior year. I had chosen my senior portrait photographer long before I became as senior. There were only two options in my small Maine town, but I KNEW who was going to create my portraits. Even now, many years later (And I mean MANY...I'm older than I look!) a 20"x30" canvas of my senior portrait at a grand piano hangs in our foyer.

Today, it seems there are COUNTLESS options for senior pictures. Everyone with a camera these days claims to be a professional photographer. But, are they really? Do they know an F-stop from a bus stop? Are they a legit business, such an LLC or S-Corp? While everyone has to start somewhere, why trust your once in a lifetime, senior portraits to just anyone?

As the owner of Joanne Lee Photography, I am constantly working to improve my craft. I am the vice president of the Maine Professional Photographers Association. I compete locally, nationally, and internationally with my portraits. It's our job to create portraits that are completely authentic. We aim to capture your essence in a photograph. 

While we aren't the photographer for everyone, we are the artist for the person who wants more than just a a photograph, but a work of art.

I love the photo above, where my client photographed me, photographing his son. Typically, photographing ME during a session is a BIG NO NO, this person is a dear friend, so he got a pass. Plus, it was fun to see the image I created in that area. These 'behind the scenes' images are always so fun. I am grateful he took it.
